A new Google Search feature called About this Result, unveiled at Google’s I/O developers conference, will help you better figure out sources that appear in searches to fight misinformation or fake news.
Google is making it easier for everyone to evaluate information and check the sources for search results that show up on its massive search platforms, the company said during the Google I/O developer’s conference keynote on Tuesday 18th May 2021.
When you search for something on Google, a new feature called About this Result will appear under a given website in your results list.
This will show users how the site describes itself, what other sites say about it, and its Wikipedia page, so you can make a more informed and right decision about which sites to trust. About this Result will begin rolling out over time for all users. It’s time to overcome all the misinformation spread on various platforms.
